Key to nutrition
In an age where we are still being brainwashed by fad diets and the newest era of health and wellness trends, the one thing that clients struggle with most is knowing what to eat, when to eat it and how much they can eat.
Prioritise your proteins
One of the biggest discoveries during my fitness journey has been understanding the importance of protein intake. My goal is to improve my body composition and alongside following a consistent workout routine a high protein intake is essential.
The sunshine vitamin
Now that the sun is shining brighter and for longer, as we head into the summer months it’s had me thinking about the benefits of what is often referred to as the “sunshine vitamin.”
Drink more water
To be honest I feel a little hypocritical writing this post but if anyone needs to hear it as much as I do then this one is for you.
Don’t cut carbs
The year is 2022 so surely everyone has heard of a low carb diet. Keto, Atkins and Paleo (just to name a few) are all examples of low carb diets, which recommended you minimise your carbohydrate intake.
Eat your greens
As a younger child I remember being told, ‘make sure you eat your greens.’
Breaking the fast
Breakfast is the first meal of the day so surely it’s the most important one, right?
There probably isn’t a meal more neglected or skipped than breakfast. Breakfast skippers usually say they don’t have enough time to make something to eat in the morning; others don’t like to eat as soon as they wake up, as they simply don’t feel hungry. Some don’t eat breakfast due to fasting, which has become a popular trend in diet culture inspired by other cultures and religions.
I can relate to all this as I was previously guilty of being a breakfast skipper.
