Mindful morning routine
Early to bed and early to rise makes one healthy, wealthy and wise.
Clear your mind
As someone who has battled with their mental health for years I have tried a few treatments and I have never found any as effective as exercise and practising mindfulness.
Do not disturb
There is no denying technology has aided in making our lives easier and more efficient but has it come at a cost to our sleep health?
Eat your greens
As a younger child I remember being told, ‘make sure you eat your greens.’
Go the distance
“If someone says, ‘Hey, I ran 100 miles this week. How far did you run?’ ignore him! What the hell difference does it make? The magic is in the man, not the 100 miles.”
- Bill Bowerman
Wake up flow
When I did some research on stretching I found many alternating viewpoints; when are the best times of the day to stretch, what type of stretches should be performed and if stretching was actually beneficial at all?
No bad days
Normally when I think about my day I tend to have the mindset that either it was a good one or a bad one. I’m sure I’m not the only person who thinks it’s that black and white.
Make your bed
I have only one top tip on how to change your mindset when it comes to tackling productivity, make your bed.
Seasonal affective disorder
In the UK, as the nights draw in quicker and the weather gets colder, both feel as though they can affect your mood and energy levels. You may have heard some refer to this as the ‘winter blues.’
Breaking the fast
Breakfast is the first meal of the day so surely it’s the most important one, right?
There probably isn’t a meal more neglected or skipped than breakfast. Breakfast skippers usually say they don’t have enough time to make something to eat in the morning; others don’t like to eat as soon as they wake up, as they simply don’t feel hungry. Some don’t eat breakfast due to fasting, which has become a popular trend in diet culture inspired by other cultures and religions.
I can relate to all this as I was previously guilty of being a breakfast skipper.
Push to start
To kick-start my career in health and fitness I’m challenging myself to run 50km throughout the whole month of January whilst raising money for mental health charity, Mind.
